Guatemala November 2022: First Day in Guatemala

First Day

On our first day in Guatemala, we sorted the donation bags and then ventured to a local attraction “Cascada’s Caliente” a waterfall fed from volcanic heat. While there we interacted with local children looking to sell coconuts. We met an elder who shared with us his knowledge of the local plants while supervising the village children. We also traveled into Rio Dulce where we visited the “Bombaros”(Fire/EMS) and learned how they respond to emergencies and checked out their equipment. The market was full of locals selling souvenirs and traditional food.
