Guatemala 2021: Day 4

Today, we woke up to roadblocks as people protested the rising prices of gas and cost of living in Guatemala. After a few phone calls we had a plan to take a launcha (small boat) around the protestors and meet up with our drivers on the other side. We carried on to the village in the truck and were greeted by a young boy who had just broken his arm. We splinted it, gave him some pain meds and off he went to the hospital on a motorcycle. We saw another 150 people with a variety of concerns. Marian discovered a small "baby in a bag" as this is how children are carried on their mothers back to free up hands. There were some adorable little babies in this village. The team did an awesome job!
